Today we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay and all the unique women that contribute to Telestack’s success.
In the Spotlight, this year is our HR & Development Officer - Kathleen Conroy
When did you start with Telestack?
2017
Has your role diversified?
I started as an HR/Payroll Admin and I truly thrived in the HR aspect. I have a passion for helping others reach their potential and I am now specialised in Learning & Development. Supported by Telestack, I have now completed my CIPD Level 5 in Human Resource Management and I am currently working towards my CIPD Level 7 in Strategic People Management.
Was HR your chosen career path?
Actually no, I started out in Accountancy and after much soul-searching, I finally had the courage 5 years in to admit that it wasn’t for me as it didn’t align with who I was.
What made you apply for a role in Telestack?
I come from a family of Engineers so I guess in a way I was naturally drawn to Telestack as I had spent so much of my younger years accompanying my father to quarries so all things conveyors, crushing and screening was somewhat in my DNA. I can safely say that it was the best decision that I have ever made!
What do you love most about working at Telestack?
My favourite motto is “every day is a learning day” and this could not be any truer than here in Telestack! I am immersed in industry best practice and am exposed to aspects within every department throughout the operation and I have to say that I love the variety. I know it’s a cliché but no two days are the same! I have a great range of mentors across many different departments who I learn from on a daily basis.
What are your long term goals?
My long-term passion is within Learning and Development and I am a big believer that you should never stop learning – both personally and professionally! Telestack has given me a platform to understand our business from every aspect – way beyond what is traditionally considered HR. Yes HR can be stressful and hectic at times but I am eternally grateful that I listened to my “gut-feeling” and pursued a career in HR. I simply love what I do!”
